Reasons that survive a design review
- You need stable enums more than a paragraph.
- Several atomic questions should share one
state(vendor: state ingested once; questions in parallel). - You want Choice/Score confidence as an abstain hook (Noul has no separate confidence field).
- Taxonomy changes faster than a training cycle — labels live in the request.
- You want a cheap gate before an expensive generator (hybrid; see vs prompt-only).
Reasons that do not
- “It can’t hallucinate” as a truth claim (schema ≠ facts).
- “193× faster” on your workflow (vendor eval graphs).
- Replacing rules, OCR, KYC, or an orchestrator.
- Needing on-device / open weights (not Jev).
Cost honesty
List price (vendor, models page): $0.042 / million input tokens, output free. Gateways may add fees. Filter state: unused tokens still bill and, on 1.13, hurt accuracy.
